As a queer feminist activist from and based in the Global South, I have dedicated over 20 years to advancing gender justice globally through advocacy and narrative change initiatives. I have worked with philanthropic and civil society organizations as a staff member, consultant, and organizer.

I am a sociologist and hold a Master’s degree in Gender and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science. I have strong technical expertise in sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice, as well as in women’s and LGBTQI+ rights. I have worked in over 40 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, which has given me a deep understanding of the cross-cutting challenges and opportunities involved in advancing gender justice. I have deep expertise in bringing together actors from the global north, south, and east in collaborative spaces.

I am fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, and have facilitated processes and events in all four languages. These experiences enable me to support the social justice ecosystem in three key areas.

Over the years, I have developed extensive knowledge of the global philanthropic landscape through working with diverse actors and participating in spaces for global coordination, including the Human Rights Funders Network and the Global Philanthropy Project. I have also led the development of grantmaking strategies, governance structures, and operational systems for various initiatives.

At Nebula Fund, I served as founding Director of Programs, leading the development of its governance, stakeholder participation, and organizational and grantmaking strategy.

I was also responsible for implementing these strategies and co-led their narrative and accompaniment program.

At Aidsfonds, I led the development and implementation of two sexual and reproductive rights strategic partnerships funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the organization’s grantmaking strategy.

At BEA Fund, I facilitated the first rounds of participatory grantmaking and supported the development of processes for continued implementation.

As one of the founders of Nebula Fund, I facilitated the visioning process to bring together gender justice work and narrative change efforts, supporting the fund to frame narrative change in its work and to foster partners to incorporate it into theirs. As a consultant, I continue to support organizations in understanding the narrative change ecosystem and to create tactics for their work across the globe.

Previously, I have worked with several organizations to develop advocacy strategies to advance gender justice at global, national, and regional levels, including within UN bodies, civil society networks, and global conferences. In these spaces, I have collaborated with institutions such as Aidsfonds, Mama Cash, Action Canada for Sexual and Reproductive Rights, Share-Net International, Coletivo Mangueiras, and the Youth Coalition to develop and implement advocacy strategies.
